Grand Rising beloved! Thank you for visiting this page. Welcome to today's Daily Devotionals- Day 123 of 365 days.
Daily Devotional Entry#123:
Considered Surrender- “Suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace.”- Luke 14: 31- 32 (NIV)
Q & A?:
In the quiet of your heart, what gentle nudges or persistent whispers are you sensing from the Divine, inviting you to release the need to control and trust in His wondrous workings? What deep-seated stress is He asking you to surrender, even the burdens you carry silently, trusting that in letting go, His universal laws will bring forth what is truly due? And what echoes of your past – the tendency to run and seek external help, feeling bound by others' expectations – is He freeing you from now, inviting you to a fulfilling life as His faithful servant?
My answer:
Lately, in those still moments of listening within, the invitation from the Divine is clear: surrender the need to control. It's a gentle but persistent call to step back and allow Him to work His wonders, the way I've witnessed Him do time and time again in my life. There's a deep knowing that when I try to orchestrate every detail, I often limit the beautiful and unexpected ways He can move.
He's also asking me to surrender the deep-seated stress I carry, the weight I often shoulder alone, pretending I'm perfectly fine handling everything myself. It's a quiet burden I keep hidden, thinking I need to be the strong one. But the gentle whispers encourage me to release that tension, to trust that in letting go, His universal laws, those natural rhythms of the cosmos He orchestrates, will bring forth what is truly due to me.
For so long, my instinct was to run – to seek help from others, often feeling trapped by the unspoken obligations that followed, bound to the expectations of those I turned to. It was a cycle of seeking support but losing my own freedom in the process, feeling indebted to those who offered a hand. But the Father, in His grace, has been setting me free from those self-imposed chains, those invisible terrants of expectation. He's showing me that true support comes without strings attached, flowing freely from His love.
This release is an invitation to step into a more fulfilling life, not driven by obligation or the need to escape, but by a genuine desire to serve Him as His faithful servant. It's trusting that His provision and guidance are sufficient, that I don't need to bind myself to others out of a sense of necessity. This surrender – of control, of hidden stress, and of the old patterns of seeking help with attached strings – is an act of profound faith. It's acknowledging His sovereignty and trusting that in His freedom, I find my own true liberation and purpose as I walk the path He has laid out for me.
Heavenly Father, in the quiet spaces of our hearts, we thank You for Your gentle yet persistent guidance, inviting us to release control and surrender our burdens to Your loving care. We acknowledge the deep-seated stress we often carry in silence and ask for the strength to lay it down at Your feet, trusting in the power of Your universal laws to bring forth what is truly due.
We are grateful for the freedom You offer, breaking the chains of past patterns and freeing us from the expectations that once bound us. May we embrace this liberation, stepping into a more fulfilling life as Your faithful servants, guided by Your wisdom and sustained by Your grace.
Grant us the courage to trust in Your wondrous workings, knowing that Your plans for us are far greater than we can imagine. Even when fear whispers doubts, may we hold fast to the assurance of Your love and the promise of true freedom in You. Amen.
