Daily Devotional Entry#122:
Pain Has Purpose- “Jesus answered, ‘It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”- John 9: 3(NASB)
Q & A?
Considering my life, where have I recognized the Lord's hand at work, creating moments for His glory to be seen? And in what unfolding aspects of my life do I now sense His presence, perhaps preparing for that revelation next?
My answer:
Looking back, the landscape of my life has been marked by deep valleys, not just gentle shifts. The time spent without my children felt like a long, hard winter, a stark reminder of what truly matters. And while being a stay-at-home mom and running a small business might seem like a blessing to others, the reality is a constant pull, a deep well of work and unwavering dedication that often leaves me utterly exhausted.
Yet, it's within these very spaces – the ache of separation and the relentless demands of daily life – that I've witnessed the Lord's sustaining grace most powerfully. It's in the strength that rises even when I feel depleted, the unwavering love for my children that endures any distance, and the perseverance to build something meaningful amidst the exhaustion. These aren't just reflections of my own efforts; they are testaments to His presence, His quiet bolstering when I feel I have nothing left to give.
Knowing that even in moments of feeling metaphorically cornered, I am never truly alone, fuels my steps. Others might see a surface, perhaps a "sheep" navigating her days. But the Most High knows the "lion" heart He has given me, the inner strength forged in these very fires. My continued prayer is to let that strength, that unwavering reflection of His love and resilience, shine through in all I do, whether in the joyful reunions with my children, in the daily grind of work, or in the quiet moments of simply being. For it is in these authentic experiences, these very real struggles and triumphs, that His glory is undeniably revealed.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the clarity You bring to our past and the gentle anticipation You stir within us for the future. We acknowledge Your hand in the valleys and on the mountaintops, in the moments of apparent loss and in the quiet perseverance of each day. Thank You for the strength You provide when we feel weary and the love that sustains us through every separation. May our lives continue to be open canvases for Your glory, revealed not in grand displays, but in the genuine acts of love and obedience that flow from hearts devoted to You. Guide our steps, Lord, and let Your light shine through us, seen and unseen, for Your honor and praise. Amen.
